it is time...

perhaps.... to kick back and relax. maybe.

having been a champion for the reticent, the 'indian chief' for those seemingly lacking in the will/ability to communicate... maybe it is time they learn to stand for their own rights.

LW was right... it's not worth sacrificing your own 'image' or reputation getting into scraps and brawls that are not your concern. Even if my non-intervention means that situations are likely to get out of hand.

maintaining the peace is troublesome
peace-brokering is nose breaking
and both are equally thank-less.
mending broken skulls seems so much more appealing and less painful. As long as the skull's not mine.

I am reminded of an old military saying: to withdraw from a matter, it must be done with strength.

afterall, the placid manner of the worldly-wise sage who laughs and strides through life seems a better PR image than a bloodied nose brawler.

contrary to popular misconception... i hate babysitting. i am able to babysit the japanese visitors somewhat well, by the grace of God, but i'm more inclined to throw someone into a situation and let them 'try their best'. Then perform post-mortem with the chap. If i choose to take any responsibility, it would just be to ensure he does not die from overt exposure to allergens and limit the fall-out effects, if any.

else... he can experience all the 'love' he needs to... *GRiNZ* Everyone needs to feel the luxury of pain from time to time.

It seems selfish... but incomparably blissful if i should absolve myself of all responsibility and observe the chaos theory in 'live' action. Allow people to connect verbally on a more primal level. And not agonize over things for once. Time can be better spent.
