HAPPY DAY!

Today is a happy day
happy day
happy day
today is a happy day
because i jogged today

Today is a happy day
happy day
happy day
today is a happy day
because i sing today

Aw yea... the simple joys of living... The Lord has been good to me indeed

Went jogging today... And it has been a long time since i jogged with the guys...

Bro Eugene, Frankie, Kin Onn and 2 other bros plus me... 6 of us...

Bro Eugene took the other route with the 2 bros while Frankie, Kin Onn and i went the 'olde way' 4.8km.

I was trailing all the way and i felt the urge to overtake... But i was reminded that we run our own race... we are not called to compete against others, but against ourselves. The Lord has given each of us a path to take, according to our faith, to the gifts He placed in us, we run the race.

So instead of running against them, i ran against myself... Jesus is always in the lead... just Him leading, and me, following. I kept pace and kept going till i finished... as customary to my runs with God, my pace increased at the ending stage.

And again, my body said... too tired... pain... rest... cannot already... But i prayed, i can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. And once again, the Lord saw me through.

i finished the run.

And that is the way we should live our lives.

Not pitting ourselves against one another, for the Lord does not compare us one to the next, but He love us individually, unconditionally. Not because we are better than the next guy. He has given us the race to run... everyone... each one, their own track. He leads us... and we follow... according to our faith, we run... according to our ability, we maintain our speed.

Along the way, we may cross path, we may run together for a season, then as we move to another phase in life, we may say goodbye, meet with others and run WITH (and constantly remind ourselves not to compete against) them. And that is how i understand it... as the Lord reveal to me this day.

I was also reminded of the story in a samurai book i read when i was talking to Frankie... a servant fought a samurai from another house. Custom dictated that he be put to death. But his master loved him and spoke for him. And it was decided that he would face the warriors of the other house... if he survived the duels, he was free to go.

His master came before him and said that it was the best he can do... the servant bowed and thanked his master, resigned to die as he know it was his fate.

But as he faced the enemies one by one, he, the untrained servant, won every round, even the veteran samurai that he fought against conceded defeat. As he fought as though he was dead, he lived.

As we die to ourselves, our carnal selves, we will live in His glorious Kingdom and see His Kingdom come, His Will, done, in our lives, as it is in heaven. Hallelujah!
