resignation
for a senior staff to resign in face of difficulties, especially resignation due to poor decision, resulting in disrepute to the company or poor performance... is shirking responsibility, is it not?
What is the difference between their act and the samurai's seppuku in failure of duty?

Though to live with shame of defeat is difficult, it is one's obligation to do so. The strong will, however, do better by restitution and restoration.
Those who fall in their walk with God either backslide or stay. Of those who stay, the proud will step down, the humble who are strong in God will seek forgiveness and trust in God to restore and exhort, and in the fullness of time, exalt them, bringing the promises to pass, that they will be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath,
Therefore, be strong in the Lord and not thyself, for when ye are weak, then His awesome wonderful strength is made perfect.
