new beginning
well... it's about time
unofficially, i am the technical manager of a company.
officially, my title is "Field Engineer", though i personally prefer to be... engineering the field of some financially well endowed beautiful female homo sapien who is romantically interested in me... yet, it was not meant to be. Thank GOD...
jokes aside, this is a, well... technically anyway, an upgrade for me.
But being an engineer in a company of (currently) 4 staff, including my Operations manager, the organisation chart is both flat and uninspiring, to say the least. 4 staff, sans my director.
1, operations manager
2, lab engineer - field engineer
1, the cust care engineer
as you can see from the arrangement, i am 2nd in the pecking order, along with 1 other guy... with 1 junior.
wow.
but look on the bright side... i am working in a new environment... pay raise, friendly people... what could go wrong??
plenty, my dear.
i am now required, more than ever, to be finely detailed and politically well-behaved. I am now fronting customers and also representing the company to various organisations to which our products will be sold to. I am also to become politically savvy, as a potential threat to the company has surfaced... none other than one of my ex-bosses.
whilst i am indebted to him for the previous appointment, it is nonetheless a noteworthy note that, this individual, for the sake of his personal interest and vendetta, sacrificed me, my professional reputation, by removing a critical key component of my logistics system, causing major reccurring tracking problems leading to my loss of credibility in that environment.
where i do not harbor any evil god-forsaken intention of revenge (praise God), i am, however, obligated to act and advise my manager to the best of my ability, for the interest of the company (company earns $, i keep job. company closes, i lose job. no job = no cash. simple math that encourages me to act in the best interests of my company).
I spoke as i ought to and did not utter a false word with respect to my communications with, as well as my history and understanding of this man. Anyway, for the curious (and gossip mongers), the deal that this man proposed didn't work out. I am somewhat relieved, as 1,001 things may have gone wrong, could go wrong, if we did close the deal.
Please understand, to me, work is work, if there is a sales to be closed, and there is no foreseeable negative reprecussion to the company, i will still advise to go for it... even though i do not like him. i have learnt, slowly and maybe a little late, to work for the best interests of the company.
As Fabian, friend and somewhat of a mentor says, work is work. the company employs me and pays me... even if the supervisor tells me to sit outside the toilet and do nothing, i will do it. because, from 7am to 5pm, the time is working time, the company paid me for it.
wise words... something that many of us ought reflect upon. as most of us had, at some point in time or other, skived off on the job in one way or another.
anyway, life has picked up somewhat... still having a shaky relationship with my UPLINK... not too happy about it, but it's improving.
been reading samurai literature again... and this is much better written than the rest so far.
Read some parts of "Purposed driven life".
reading up on the 6 Sigma thingy....
and the 'life's little instruction book".
and the Lord is overclocking my brains... i got enough stuff in my grey compartment for
1 movie
2 documentary series
3 animation series, 1 working in the development phase.
please do, i beg thee, entreating you earnestly, if you know anyone who is keen to act in a production, small scale, free of charge.... let me know... before my brain explodes in a gooey mess and the graveyard gets enriched (again).
por favor.... gracias, everybody.
