signs of times?

Spoke with a cabbie last night... he had encountered many passengers emerging from hotels with women who're not their wives.

1 such woman stepped out of the cab and was greeted by her husband at the HDB void decks, with baby in his arms.

so he said.

the generations only grows weaker it seems
no war, no challenges only insipid peace
the boys grows childish & girls lack loyalty
marital affairs are rife, and divorce case increase

it was once in a lifetime in bygone days
a sacred moment of marital commitment
would you assume it's still the case?
when 1 in 2 marriages will just crash and burn

our parents had it easy
so this generation says
not seeing the tears, the heartaches
nor the compromises made

they held true to their word
swearing to their own hurt
that 'till death do us part'
was not just a passing remark

marriage is an institution
a result of mental delusion
despite best of intentions
causes much disillusion

it takes 2 hands to clap
a thumb, a finger and the palm to snap
loyalty and love for a marriage to be sound
a man, a woman, and God's love to abound

and therein yet much more will come
but in loving patience, should 1 stay calm
no trouble too tough, nor sea too rough
if 1 remembers to be gentle and forsake wrath

desire determination, commitment, loyalty, love
lustful gratifications your body ought not serve
put self in the center and it all falls apart
sacrifice of self, even if it pains the heart

and 1 will find much more rewards
when one is faithful to his own words
HE who sees in secret will be highly pleased
for the Lord regards his integrity
