dance sing laughed love

She danced and sang
she laughed and love,
the sparkling clear water
over the red fertile earth

the brilliant splash of colors
of the dress sewn by her mother
it seemed also to sing with her
the joys and passions of being a girl

her lilting voice
so clear and strong
lingering in her wake,
though she's long gone

reminding us all
to pause and breath
to stop for a while,
take in the scene

and lift our eyes
above the hustle of life
and see the beauty
of God's design.
