this anime gives new meaning to the phrase:" will work for food".

Settings:
(probably a fantasied World War 3 fusion with Edo period Japan)

Summary brief synopsis:
A village terrorised by mechanised bandits decided that they have had enough ad sent out a party to hire some samurai from the city.
(predictably, there was a pretty lass who is in that party)

well.. the thing was... having no cash to offer in the agricultural based society... they are offering rice as a form of payment.

Hence... interpreting Proverbs 16:26 in view of the anime, FEED THE HUNGRY SAMURAI.... heeheehee

well... it is a show about chivalry, friendship, honor, giri, personal struggles, taking the good with the bad, that to protect the ones you love... you might have to do disagreeable things.... (they had to kill... we have to put in the extra hours for the meetings that we dread... that sort of thing).

One can learn alot of things from all sources... heh.
